Prof. Lin Chen

Biography:
Prof. Chen graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Advanced Class of Southeast University (now Wu Jianxiong College) in 2002, majoring in Information Engineering. He obtained his engineering degree and Ph.D. from Télécom ParisTech in France in 2005 and 2008, respectively. From 2009 to 2019, he served as an Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in the Computer Science Department at Paris-South University. Since 2019, he has been a professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Data Science and Computer at Sun Yat-sen University. His main research areas include network distributed learning and algorithm design, information security, and privacy protection, with years of research experience in fields such as the Internet of Things, mobile computing, and green communication. He has published two monographs and over 100 papers in top journals and conferences, including IEEE/ACM TON, IEEE JSAC, IEEE TMC, IEEE TIFS, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE RTSS, ACM MobiHoc, and IEEE ICDCS, among others. He has received three Best Paper Awards (GameSec 2017, NEWCOM 2015, IEEE ICCCN 2007). According to Google Scholar, his papers have been cited over 3,000 times, with an h-index of 33, and three papers have been cited more than 100 times individually. Since 2015, he has been the chair of the IEEE Green Cognitive Communications and Computing Technical Working Group and serves as an editor for the international journals IEEE Systems Journal and Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing. He is also a TPC member for several prestigious international conferences, including INFOCOM, ICCCN, ICC, and Globecom. As a guest editor, he has published five special issues in leading industry journals such as IEEE Wireless Communications. He has led and participated in various national natural science fund projects as well as over ten EU and French national research projects and was selected as a member of the Institut Universitaire de France (class of 2018). He has been recognized as a youth top talent under the Pearl River Talent Program.
